Taurikura

This is a mixed-media artwork inspired by Te ara o Tāwhaki. It symbolises growth and learning. It features pūhoro for progress mangōpare designs for resilience, and a tāniko border highlighting the different stages of growth. The triangular shape represents Tāwhaki’s climb to the heavens, while the earthy tones and bold blacks giving depth. Combining Kauri (native wood) and paint giving the piece a blend of traditional and contemporary, reflecting the journey towards balance and prosperity
