Pouwhakaruruhau was created and inspired by our traditional carvings. These figures encapsulate the protection throughout your journey. The intricate patterns that are used on the pou figures are all traditional patterns that have been passed down through many generations and all have a story that symbolises unique characteristics of our natural elements. Pou figures are commonly used to symbolise our ancestors and every iwi (tribe) has its own specific style. These traditional figures represent our values and create a spiritual connection from the physical to the spiritual realm.
